This journal is a companion for your spiritual life. It follows the themes of the Soul Matters Sharing Circle, but it is not dependent on your congregation using Soul Matters materials. Whether you're engaged in community or on a solo path, this journal invites you to reflect, deepen, and stay connected to what matters most.
Each month, we explore one theme through four weekly lenses: Meaning-Making, Lived Experience, Obstacles and Invitations, and Integration and Practice. You'll also find anchor practices to help you return to your body, your senses, and the world around you.
If you are time-constrained, burned out, or feeling foggy—know that even one word, one phrase, one breath of reflection is enough.
You are enough. Just pausing is holy.
Neurodivergent Accessibility
Choose the way into reflection that feels most spacious for you:
One-word entry: What one word captures your connection to this theme right now?
Visual processing: Draw or collage your feelings or associations.
Sensory connection: What texture, sound, or smell evokes this theme?
Simplified reflection: Circle a single question that feels approachable.
You do not have to think in straight lines. Spirals, tangents, and non-linear paths are welcome.
Ritual and Creativity Invitations
In addition to journaling, explore the theme with your whole self:
Light a candle or incense before journaling.
Create a small nature altar with objects that reflect the theme.
Write a short poem, prayer, or haiku that captures how the theme is living in you.
Move your body in a way that reflects the energy of the theme—slow stretching, dancing, stillness.
Let these be small rituals of presence, not performance.
